OK here’s the story. You were born on planet Earth in a vast sea of cosmic moons and stars. We’ve taken so much time brutal strength and subtle rhyme to make things a little easier on you. So welcome to the show! The very first thing you should know is that you cannot tell a secret into a microphone. Now there’s a lot of do’s and don’ts so wisely choose your wills and won’ts. There’s a billion people coming after you. I know what you’re thinking. I know exactly where it hurts. I will always have your back and be at your side. It could take a while to realize the world is full of compromise but there’s always time to start your life anew. The instant that we met our destinies were surely set. There’s not been one single second I’ve not loved you. Just jump into the ocean if you’re feeling sort of sad. Let that mother sunshine wash away yer blues. Jump into the ocean. Let that mother sunshine color your debut. Dancing in the aisles of a mile high airplane. Wiggle with some style and sin what you can sing. You may think I’m crazy. Well I think you’re insane. Making love is easier if you don’t regret a thing. Dance out on the tiles and smile through the pain. It could take a while, but it’s a worthwhile fling. Making love is easy when you don’t regret a thing.

Passenger 06:12
Passenger on a passing by honey bee. Relaxing sitting back smiling into the breeze. When that call comes calling you come on home just say please baby please. We’re just riding around. Passenger in a parking lot in front of Johnny’s place. Making a massive miscalculation in a minuscule space. It’s unbelievable today what the wind can blow your way. Your mind is written. Write on your face. We’re just writhing around. I’m enjoying the ride from the passenger side. I could chill all night. I don’t mind letting my baby drive. You look so fine behind the dashboard light. Now we’ll arrive at the very same time. Passenger on a passing by beryl butterfly. Taking a whirlwind tour up and down all around the continental divide. When that call comes calling you come on home just say oh baby hold tight. We’re just driving around.

Pack it Up 02:37
Well I don’t know about you but I been thinking about me. Maybe that’s why we can’t be together. You stole a piece of my heart. Went and sold it without me. That is why we cannot be together. We’re not. No, we aren’t anymore. I’m so up in my head. I can’t see nothing around me. That is why I’m always falling down. Falling out of my bed. Bad feelings surround me. Pack it up. I’m headed out of town. I got a question for you if you’ll ever allow me. What are you going to say when you’re talking about me? All I want is for we to be together.

Some People 06:28
Don’t listen to the mustn’ts. Don’t listen to your fears. I’ve been trying to reach you for years and years and years. Some people die from loneliness. Some people die from holiness. Some people die we won’t ever miss and some don’t ever die at all. Some people die for lovers. Some people die for others. Some people die for nothing and some don’t ever die at all. There’s a moon over Monsanto and it’s big and blue and so beautiful tonight. Like Thanksgiving on a Sunday. Can’t put your finger on what isn’t right. My baby she thinks I’m a monster. She thinks I’m a rock star. Oh but she don’t know. I would superglue my shoes if that’s what she asked me to do. Wanna make some bad decisions? Maybe add some booze. Some people die for nothing and some they die alone. Some people die for nothing less and some don’t ever die at all. It’s time to rise. It’s time to shine. It’s time to rise and shine like that moon over Monsanto. It’s paper-mache thin as a dime.

Haircut 04:45
Well I like the way your hair is cut. And I dig them shoes you’re wearing. And I noticed that we’re riding on the same train together. And I can’t help myself from staring. So come and sit right next to me just to be a little daring. Acting like a grown up and I’m getting too big for these clothes that I’m wearing. When we’re hanging out together we can talk about whatever. Oh I could make such a mess out of you. When I call you up on the phone and I know you’re home all alone boy that’s something I could get into. Well I like it when you roll the dice. When you turn down some good advice. Chasing after something and you’re getting nowhere but it’s nice to get the exercise. Just a one time thing that happens three or four times. Now I don’t care how cool you look in leather. I’ll never make the same mistake twice. When we’re hanging out together we can talk about the weather. And I dig them genes you’re wearing. And I noticed that we’re standing on the same plane together. So come and sit right next to me if you feel a little daring. Acting like a grown up. Am I getting too big for these clothes that I’m wearing? When we fall in love together we can talk about forever.

Peanuts 07:01
All I hear is gibberish any time that she’s talking to me. All I hear is wah wah wah and all I see are her stocking feet. Mahna na na na na. You fancy yourself a psychoanalyst but charge a nickel a piece. Know what I meant when I sniffed peppermint? You best quit prying apart my dreams. Why did you have to give me so much grief? We were still singing O Tannenbaum around a tree. So why did you have to give me so much grief? You were the one who pulled the ball out from under my feet. Now all I hear is gibberish any time that you’re talking to me. All I hear is wah wah wah and all I see are your stocking feet.

I don’t care what they think. I just don’t want them to know. Bodies pressed against the glass. Now every season is uncertain. I’ve seen my future come to pass. Just don’t peek behind the curtain. You can stay overnight. Stay on your side of the bed. If I ask you the same question will you just repeat your answer? Will you just repeat your answer if I ask you once again? Did you mean what you said? ‘Cause what you said was so mean. Sometimes I think I’d be better off dead than to be where I been. Now it’s already over before it even began.
8.
A man does exactly as he say. Traveling down the old familiar way. Dangerous curves are coming up ahead. Rohlman on the water with a little too much lead. My shell is showing its cracks again. It ain’t no place I never been. No guarantee that we’ll make it out OK. A broken heart shaped cloud appears in an empty sky only to be seen by the laziest of eyes. Frantic and forever out of breath. The great unknown determines what we’re worth. Closing chords and tightening airways.
9.
What’s it going to be boy? What’s it going to be? How you gonna feed your starving family? You got a lot of people swinging in your tree up and down the banks of the Mississippi. The rain is coming down. Made a lot of friends here in your brand new town. Ain’t nothing ever as innocent as it may sound. Always looking for a new field to run your plow. Everybody’s here but you ain’t missing a thing. The gang is all here you ain’t missing a thing. Swallow your fear ‘cause you ain’t missing a thing. You ain’t missing a thing. How you gonna live? Can’t always rely on the people who give. Sooner or later you’re going to find out if you got the real or fake kind of relationship. Do you feel alive? Do you think for yourself or just buzz around the hive? Are you your own man? Are you one of the guys sitting at home and watching the tube and getting high?

Have Another 02:28
Have another drink so you can say that you were drunk. Take another hit so you can say you were messed up when you came around to my house knocking on my door. I know exactly what you were looking for. Now if there ever was some tenderness needed in this world now would be a good time to let your love unfurl into your heart into your mind into your soul and you might find that living easy is the only way. Have another drink baby. This round is on me. That old familiar feeling it starts down in your feet and it shoots right up your body. It don’t even stop to creep and all the thoughts I have burst out your mouth and all the birdies start to tweet. So have another drink baby. We’re getting near the end. I wanna reap the benefit of being your friend. He gave an inch. She took a mile. He got it done. She took a while. I said living easy is the only way.

Spend every evening with my closed eyes. Feeling guilty missing sunrise. Trot out every single disguise. The pretty girls all love the bad guys. Dogs are barking in the darkness. Forces gather ‘round the fortress. Love my lady in a sundress. She has the power I must confess. There’s a spot on the sun and it belongs to us. Give in all that you can but it’s still not enough. It’s all about nothing and everything all at once. Hanging out with some old good friends. Tying knots and leaving loose ends. Will we make it through? I guess it depends. The shallow man goes off the deep end. Left hand fumbles through the radio. My closed eyes listen as the wind blows. A good friend tells you where you should not go and gives you the answers that you already know. There’s a spot on the sun. It belongs to us.
